Utility Assets are additional assets that come in their raw form to complement the mod tool. We are working hard to deliver access to as much of the game content as possible with plans to extend accessibility in the future (as we ourselves gain more understanding in the possibilities and limitations of the mod tool as well as in the needs of the community). Please note, that not every game asset may have an associated link object, as more complex structures need their own specific link implementation. Each instance represents a specific object among the game assets and by placing them in a mod level, a reference is created to the original asset allowing it to appear on the level. Link objects are (as their name hints) the links between the editor and the package assets. Due to multiple reasons, we can only supply a sample count of these, but feel free to add your own ones there. Raw game assets have been provided where linking was not an option (namely terrain texture tiles and skyboxes they can be found in the Textures folder under Assets). Therefore, modifying the contents of a mod package asset bundle has no effect on the assets available for the mod in game. Please note, that the asset bundles of the mod package are not compatible and thus not interchangeable with those of the game! The game always uses its own asset bundles, which reference their operating logics substantially differently from the ones in the mod package. Distinct assets cannot be directly browsed in the editor or modified. Packaged game assets (asset bundles) are critical for presenting and operating all the content of the game. Feel free to post your questions into the Steam Forums of course.ĪssetsThe package contains three distinct sets of assets: The launcher will also link to a quickstart guide to get you into the intricacies of the editor. You can download it from the link in the launcher directly or from this link: Please note that you need to use Unity 2017.3 (not the most up to date one). This means that you will need to download the free Unity editor and make a Unity account to mod Sudden Strike 4. In fact, it will unpack a Unity Editor project to mod the game. Once you download and start it, it will prompt you with a launcher window that lets you extract all files needed to mod Sudden Strike 4. You will find it in your library under the “tools” section as a unique download called “Sudden Strike 4 – Editor”. How do I access the modding tools? What are the prerequisites? The modding tools are implemented as a separate “tool” project on Steam.
